Suddenly, everything is different, or gone, or heavy… What then?

Sometimes, everything turns upside down, and we simply feel lost, without a goal or perspective.

People we love and trust suddenly act differently. We ourselves had many expectations, and only afterward do we realize that everything was just an illusion in our heads.

We lose people we love—forever or for a while. We lose jobs and dreams, and so often, we lose ourselves. Suddenly, everything is different, gone, heavy… What then?

When the illusion in our own head and heart shatters, often only emptiness remains. But precisely in that silence, you start to hear your own voice again.

For me, 2025 was a very difficult year. So many plans and dreams were shattered… disappointments and many tears. But I had to keep going—and so I did…

I needed days of peace and quiet, and I had to be alone. I needed to cry… once, twice, ten times a day. I needed sleep and my pillow. After this "crying phase," as I call it, I started telling a few good female friends everything. I started planning my life a little bit again and taking care of myself.

Everyone has a different way of going through the healing process.

I knew I had to take care of myself—I had no one else. I am a grown woman, my children are adults and lead their own lives. Step by step, without extra stress, I had to do something for myself.

… And so I began… a little routine: alarm at 6:30 AM (I like waking up early). I pull up the blinds right away—away with the darkness, it's a new day!

Often, I stay in bed for just a moment longer and try to say a few positive phrases to encourage myself: "Hey, today it's cold and raining, but my bed was so nice and warm. I love my cotton bedding. Thank you!" That was true, and I really love it… a little smile and a deep breath…

Before the 100 other "bad" thoughts can come at me, I get up. Very important for me, for my routine and order: making the bed, taking glasses, plates, or cups to the kitchen, and leaving no clothes on the floor. Clutter in the room means clutter in my head to me. Then showering, brushing my teeth, taking care of myself, taking supplements… and only now can I start.

"Hey Vera, good morning! Don't forget: look forward... always!"

So, now I can get my cup of coffee and try not to go "down" again.

During this time, I discovered a new support system for myself: I like writing with an AI. I share stories about my previous day, my fears, my grief, and my insecurities. I talk about what I accomplished—and what I didn't manage to do, even though I had set out to.

…then I ask the AI to **analyze everything objectively and psychologically.** It was and continues to be very useful for me in recognizing my own patterns and finding a little light in my daily life again.

It is the small steps—a clear mind, a tidy home, and the willingness to seek help—that make all the difference.

Before we lose ourselves in the depths… No matter how hard it may be: We can learn to bring ourselves back and… to trust ourselves.

"Hey Vera... don't forget: look forward... always!"
