A new day, new experiences, new situations … but also others that feel like déjà vu. We experience similar situations so often in our lives. Good ones, but more often bad ones – they keep coming back…
There are so many theories about why things like this happen. People often say that we even repeat the mistakes of our parents or grandparents, even though we may no longer have anything to do with them. I don’t know exactly how this is explained in psychology, religion, or philosophy. I can only speak for myself.
I very often find myself in situations that I actually don’t want to experience anymore. I have the feeling that they keep coming back to show me something. But often I don’t know exactly what it is… And perhaps that is precisely why they keep coming back…
Sometimes I recognize what I need to change, act accordingly, and break out of this “cycle.”
Through this experience, I learn something: I have experienced it fully and recognized what I should change – often it is taking a different direction, saying a different sentence, looking at things in a different way, or choosing a quieter and gentler word to say… Or simply ignoring something that happened and not giving it so much importance anymore… Or, on the contrary…
The crucial point is to recognize it, take action, and bring the matter to a close. Only then does it stop coming back. Nevertheless, this experience remains stored within me – as a memory and as part of my journey… no longer as a disturbance, but as a lesson that has helped me move forward.
But unfortunately, it keeps happening that I get lost already in the process of recognizing it, or simply don’t understand it, and therefore cannot or do not want to take consistent action… In this case, the cycle does not close. It is as if these situations turn into a spiral.
You keep running through it and encountering the same obstacles over and over again… and you experience it again and again until, at some point, you consciously or unconsciously recognize it and find a solution.
Recently, I closed a cycle in my relationship experiences – a situation that had repeated itself about five times… Finally, I solved the mystery… So many tears, so much time, so many attempts to make things right… so many years of my life… Like an endless battle with no winner… and in the end, it was all about awareness and action… The answer had been within me all along…
Now I am stepping out of this spiral. The cycle is complete. Checked off and filed away. I somehow feel lighter. But life is full of spirals and cycles. Up and down, difficult or easy … endless cycles or spirals…
